Finally finishing up the ribs and gussets

Framing up the ribs two at a time.

I used the next couple pictures to make sure I was building the ribs correctly. I took these from a wing center section that had been cut open for awhile. You can see signs of life inside the wing.

It looks like the builder removed the nails out of the gussets after the glue had set up.
From what I've seen is that these gussets are alot more rough than the ones I've produced.
Cutting out the last of the gussets for the other side of the rib.
Hope cutting out some gussets.
Sanding "N" gussets.

My dad cutting out some gussets at the house.
All ribs framed up and need gussets applied to the other side.

First rib finished on both sides, nineteen to go.

Setting up the rib jig and building gussets

 Laying out the cap-strip blocks.
Finished laying them out, now time to nail them down.
Building two rib jigs on one piece of plywood.
The rib jig is ready, now we all need is gussets.
First we cut the gussets out of the plywood then we sand them down.
Finished gussets.
All the gussets we've made so far, enough for 12 ribs.
All the wood for the spares and trailing edge.
Cap-strips for the ribs, sitting ready to be made into ribs.
Cap-strip steaming rib jigs for the top and bottom parts of the rib.

Working on the Torque tube and control assembly

So, we moved the the work bench out to the airport and now we have all of our stuff their now.
We are welding the aileron control T to the control tube.
Magnetically mounting in place for welding.
Tabs under the T to keep the magnets from miss-alignment of the T.

Welds came out good
Working on the second control tube
 Ends of both tubes
Both tubes laid out, Notice the metal sheet, its used for keeping the wood from catching fire when welding and we use it to mount magnets to secure pieces we are welding.
Setting up tabs to be welded, and are held in place with magnets.
Same thing but up higher, getting late so we stopped working and put things away.
